FAQ › Training › answer 1

How can i do less my timing in 2000m. running sedule in a week. pls sugges a workable advice.

We do not have enough data to answer your question concerning increasing speed for 2000. I don’t know what is your personal best on that distance and what training loads you apply and in what stage of training you are during this season. You also haven’t provided any details concerning body mass, height, body type and your anaerobic threshold etc. so it is difficult to characterise your running features.

Genrally – 2000m run requires high mixed and anaerobic efficiency which is connected with running strength, movement economy and lactate tolerance and Vo2nax. What is more you need an appropriate level of aerobic efficiency which during that distance increases lactate tolerance (quicker metabolism of lactate). Features of that 2000m distance require training with the main focus on mixed efficiency, running strength and anaerobic efficiency with threshold power, the aerobic efficiency should constitute base which is particularly focused on in general fitness mezocycles.

Weekly training:

Mo – aerobic efficiency training upper range

Th – aerobic efficiency training + extensive interval + running strength

We – aerobic efficiency training – compensation

Thu – anaerobic efficiency training + speed

Fr – aerobic training upper range + mixed – tempo

Sa – break – compensation

Su – break – compensation

This schedule is only a sample one as training should depend training proficiency, time limits and training stage of the athlete. The choice of appropriate training spheres ( heart beat bracket) should be adjusted to a given person.

Workable advice is not possible as you did not provide any further information (concerning both time limits, proficiency and condition of your body). What is more, we do not issue training schedules within on-line advice. However, we can consult the training you utilise at the moment and indicate points to improve.
