Training program in bodybuilding – objectives

In bodybuiding the most important objective is achievement of sport championship which consists of, among others: targeted development of features of muscular system (relative strength, absolute strength, mass etc.) constituting the most important training link as well as the development of other parameters/systems constituting the base for anabolic processes of muscular system e.g. endurance, nervomuscular coordination – playing a key role in the process of recruitment of motoric units, that is in the process of developing strength. What is more, increased load on skeletal and tendinous system appearing in powerlifting and bodybuiding trainings has to be compensated by an appropriate training periodisation and including supplement trainings such as: swimming pool or running training.

The achievement of the appropriate development of the features of the muscular system for the needs of the powerlifting training is possible thanks to taking into consideration in the process of designing the training plan the following elements influencing the development of the features of the muscular system:

  • Structural – including topography of muscles, body built type, muscular response to training stimuli in reference to their different microfibrils composition, processes of coordinating motoric unit, processes of organism’s regeneration and its response to supplements and many other factors directly influencing training and its effects.

  • Methodological – including application of an adequate training method influencing a given feature of muscular system, adequate exercises within the method, periodical change of stimulus both from the point of view of a load (progression) as well as its character (variability of methods) as well as many others influencing effectivity and safety of training.
